Tavistock Relationships, the charity helping people to have better relationships, has published details of its couples therapy training courses for the next academic year.
Its training programmes in couples therapy and sex therapy range from introductory up to clinical qualification level. Clinical Qualification and Diploma level courses are accredited by the relevant bodies such as the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, the British Psychoanalytic Council and the College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (COSRT).
Andrew Balfour, CEO of Tavistock Relationships, explains:
“Tavistock Relationships has been working to support couples and families for over 75 years and we are the UK’s leading organisation delivering specialist clinical trainings with a relationship focus.
“Couples therapy is a rich and rewarding career. It often suits people looking for a change of career direction and a move from the rigidity of office hours. You’ll get the chance to use your life experience to make a real difference to the lives of couples, individuals and their families and children.
“Each year our graduates go on to work both for us and in their own practices or other agencies and organisations. Training takes up to four years, depending on your qualifications on entry and is part-time so it can be done alongside family and work commitments.”
Tavistock Relationships runs regular online open evenings, giving people the chance to speak to course trainers as well as current students to hear about the study requirements, what it’s like to be a student at Tavistock Relationships and the postgraduate career opportunities that are available.
The charity’s next training centre open evenings will be:
