TR partners with NHS Talking Therapies to deliver three-year training
Published in Press Releases by Paula Scott on August 7th 2025
We are delighted to be working in partnership with NHS TT and NHS England to offer a three-year Postgraduate Diploma Couple Therapy for Depression with places for 20 trainees from across England, starting 29 September 2025.
This is an excellent opportunity for NHS staff to be trained and developed (fully funded and salaried) for three years, jointly with NHS England and Tavistock Relationships.
Programme head, Velia Carruthers explains:
“Throughout the training, students will develop their skills and competences for engaging in and sustaining strong therapeutic relationships, whilst working clinically in an NHS Talking Therapies (NHSTT) service with users who present with depression. At the end of the three years, students will be able to work at Band 7 NHS and will be employed within the service to which they have been attached for the three-year training.”
Trainees will be selected jointly by NHS Talking Therapies services and Tavistock Relationships, and successful applicants will need to meet both the requirements of the employing service’s job description and person specification, and the training provider’s entry requirements.
Several services are currently advertising these positions at the moment, including in Manchester, Leeds, Surrey and Greenwich. View more details, and updated information about recruitment opportunities.
