Our graduation ceremony for recent graduates took place at the Bishopsgate Institute on Friday 27 March at 6pm. We were delighted to welcome 35 students who had successfully completed a range of courses including our PG Dip and Clinical Qualification in Couple and Individual Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy, our Psychosexual Diploma, Couple Therapy for Depression PG Dip and Clinical Qualification in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy.
Lucy Marks, a Tavistock Relationships Trustee, congratulated the students on their achievements, reflecting on their hard work and determination. She thanked the programme leads for their diligence and creativity in developing and running these courses, and went on to introduce them to present certificates to the graduating students.
The quality of Tavistock Relationships training is based in both the rigour of the course content as well as the expertise and experience of our trainers, many of whom have published papers and books. Our programme leads for this cohort of graduating students were: Andrew Balfour for PG Dip and Clinical Qualification in Individual Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy and Clinical Qualification in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, Andrew Davidson and Mala Rudki for our Psychosexual Diploma and Velia Carruthers and Rehana Patel for the Couple Therapy for Depression PG Dip.
After this formal part of the evening was over, staff and students enjoyed themselves, socialising over drinks from the bar. Tavistock Relationships Chief Executive and Head of Training Andrew Balfour commented:
“This was a joyful event with a great atmosphere. It was wonderful to bring everyone together to celebrate. To see all of the graduates celebrate themselves and loudly cheer each other on was evidence of all of their hard work and great group dynamics. I very much hope that many of them will come and join our clinical service as couple therapists.”
