Parent and Infant Support
Becoming parents can be full of very joyful moments for couples but the transition to parenthood can also be fraught with many unforeseen challenges, leaving parents feeling isolated and at a loss. For example, couples may experience issues relating to birth trauma and/or post-natal depression which can make it hard for them to establish themselves as parents. In Tavistock Relationships’ work with parents and infants, experienced therapists aim to help parents create a supportive parental couple relationship in which both can form a bond with the infant which is inclusive of the other; a bond that is sensitive to the age-appropriate communications and needs of the infant.
