Apply now to train as a fully-qualified couple therapist with Tavistock Relationships

Published in Press Releases on May 18th 2022

Applications are open for Tavistock Relationships’ ‘Clinical Qualification in Psychodynamic Couple & Individual Counselling and Psychotherapy’ training, starting in September 2022.

Established in 1948, Tavistock Relationships is a registered charity internationally renowned for delivering and developing advanced practice, training and research in therapeutic and psycho-educational approaches to support couples.

Julie Humphries, Senior Couple Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist & Director of Studies at Tavistock Relationships, explains:

“This course is designed to enable students to study whilst continuing to work. Clinical placements are all within our busy clinical London practice, and students receive expert supervision in supporting our clients. The course can be completed in three years, and is the only one available that qualifies graduates to work psychodynamically with individuals and couples.

“Tavistock Relationships has been working with couples and families for more than 70 years, and our training is highly respected. Once qualified, you will be in high demand and can expect to earn a good income.

“To apply for direct entry, we are looking for applicants with a first degree or professional qualification/experience and relevant work experience; to have completed at least a Foundation level counselling and psychotherapy course; and to have undertaken personal therapy, preferably either psychodynamic or psychoanalytic psychotherapy.”
