When you complete our clinical training, you’ll have lots of options

Published in Blog by Julie Humphries on May 23rd 2022

As a graduate of our three-year Clinical Qualification in Psychodynamic Couple and Individual Counselling and Psychotherapy you will have many choices. You can choose whether you work with individuals, couples or both, and if you want to work in the public or private sector.

Your services are likely to be in high demand because there is a shortage of couple therapists in the UK.

If you take the private route, you might join the Tavistock Relationships team or set up your own private practice, or a combination of both. Whatever you decide, your services are likely to be in high demand because there is a shortage of couple therapists in the UK.

Continuing your professional development

As a successful Tavistock Relationships trainee, you will also benefit from being part of our alumni, which means you can access our high-quality Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses and attend our regular conferences. This ongoing association with Tavistock Relationships will help you stay on top of the latest research and developments to help you to further your clinical practice.

Professional accreditation

Once you have completed the required client hours, you will be able to apply for membership with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

Our next Clinical Qualification in Psychodynamic Couple and Individual Counselling and Psychotherapy course starts in September 2022, and there is still time to apply. Find out more here.
