In this early evening online lecture, the first in our new series entitled ‘Lectures from the Tavistock Relationships Model’, Mary Morgan will describe the particular ways in which the couple relationship is viewed and treated in couple psychoanalytic psychotherapy as it has evolved over nearly 75 years at TR.
Date and time: Friday 30 September 2022, 6pm to 7pm
Speaker: Mary Morgan
Fee: £10 (no discounts)
Total number of places available: 500
Venue: Online via Zoom
In this online event, referencing the Tavistock Relationships model, psychotherapist Mary Morgan will consider the influence of the past and the ways in which relationships are often set up to repeat, manage or work through unresolved early conflicts and anxieties. She will look at the nature of the relationship in the present, shaped by the couple’s psychic development, unconscious phantasies, narcissistic relating and projective system. The third area, that of the future, emphasises the idea of the adult couple relationship as having the potential for development. It has the capacity to create something new, linked to the concept of the creative couple.
Mary will talk for around 40 minutes, and following this there will be the opportunity for the audience to ask questions.
Suitable for: For qualified professionals in individual, child, family and group therapy and who are interested in finding out more about the couple relationship.
