New Centre in the City of London Opening on World Mental Health Day

World Mental Health day is taking place this Thursday 10th October and on this important day, the Tavistock Centre for Couple Relationships will open the doors to brand, new premises in the city, only 1 minute walk from Liverpool Street station.
We will offer our specialist counselling and therapy services from this new centre in addition to the 12,000 sessions we deliver from our centre in Warren Street, W1.
This new centre has been established due to the high demand from couples looking for help with their relationship. Our policy and research work shows the huge impact that the quality of relationships has on society's health and wellbeing throughout life. As well as providing couple counselling and psychotherapy to large numbers of couples in London, the Tavistock Centre for Couple Relationships is also very active in the 'bigger picture' work of reducing the incidence of relationship distress in the population, as a whole. This is vital as the costs of relationship breakdown are now estimated to be £44 billion each year.
We have just launched, in association with the Relationships Alliance, a report on public health setting out the evidence on the links between couple relationship difficulties and a range of public health concerns; as well as calling on commissioners at national and local authority levels to re-focus their priorities to ensure that their approach to public health better acknowledges the fundamental impact that the quality of our relationships have on our health throughout life.
TCCR's CEO, Susanna Abse said, "In our 65th year, we are really excited to be opening a new centre so that we can meet the demand and reach out to more people who need our help. A key element that underpins the success of the City of London is the strength of the relationships of the people who work there, and we will enhance these relationships and underpin this success by proving our specialist services."
